Was there an adverse comment made about the bright patches on the balloons? I don't see what the problem is. I think the image would look flatter without them! Does it matter that your eyes are drawn to the balloons first? Once there, you follow the strings down to the holder of the balloons.
I agree with Eric, they are not too bright, the surface of the balloon owuld naturally reflect a light source, the highlights are also soft enough not to distract.
Yes I had subdued them already, will look at them again but probably leave as is. Thanks for the comments always good to hear them and up to the photographer as to whether they act on them. One must have the confidence to stick with what you like about an image and not be swayed by other opinions. I hate the expression that some Judges use, "if it was mine" It isn't, you wouldnt have taken it or presented it like that, as Paul said 'here it is' take it or leave it, like it or hate it. I love it.
